Knowledge Partners

The Climate Change Knowledge Partnership in Nepal is a network of organizations that work on generating, disseminating, and applying climate change knowledge. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Environment (MoE), the members of the network (called "Knowledge Partners") are committed to increase access to climate change knowledge, training, tools, expertise, and experiences primarily - but not exclusively - through this portal. The Knowledge Partners believe that sharing knowledge is a potent tool for supporting and building the capacities of individuals, institutions, and communities to undertake climate change actions.

Organizations interested to participate in this knowledge partnership are invited to send their expressions of interest to info@climatenepal.org.np. Questions may be directed to the same email address.

List of Our Knowledge Partners

Objectives of the Partnership

The Climate Change Knowledge Partnership in Nepal aims to:
1)       Advance understanding of a wide range of topics related to climate change  through cross-sectoral   and inter-disciplinary coordination, knowledge sharing, and learning about climate change
2)      Strengthen the climate change community of practice in Nepal
3)      Broaden and deepen access to climate change knowledge, training materials, and tools  to support climate change actions by individuals, organizations, and communities

Responsibilities of a Knowledge Partner

The Knowledge Partners are the primary content providers to the Nepal Climate Change and Development Portal. The portal is designed to allow collaborative management and provisioning of information by a community of users. It will allow distributed and decentralized content management by the Knowledge Partners. The contents may be linked to the Knowledge Partner's own website or it can be hosted by the portal.

Each Knowledge Partner will assign a focal person who will coordinate the content within the organization, ensure quality control, and provide the content to the web portal. The focal person will also liaise with the MoE. Joining the Knowledge Partnership does not entail specific financial commitments.

Advantages of becoming a knowledge partner

The Knowledge Partners will be given rights to upload and independently manage their contents in the portal. Knowledge Partners will be acknowledged and credited by the MoE as a Knowledge Partner and will have a chance to be featured in a rotating slot on the portal's homepage.  This will allow the Knowledge Partners to gain more exposure, promote its work, and reach a wider range of audience within and beyond Nepal.
